The preparation and serving of erotic delicacies will again be one of the most important events at Casanovafest, the love and erotic festival in Vrsar. Every day from 6 pm at the seafront you will have the opportunity to try homemade Istrian food and delicacies such as honey, salted sardines, caramelised almonds, olive oil and wine by two well-known Istrian wine makers – Damjanić and Terzolo. While eating these delicacies, you will start to understand why Casanova was a successful lover even without Viagra. And on the stalls of shellfish growers from the Lim Bay you will have a chance to choose the aphrodisiacs of the length and width best suitable for you. Of course, we are talking about oysters, which will be the main ingredient of this year’s festival. But, there will be other sea specialties on offer too, such as the shells which are called by the diminutive name of the female sex organ in certain areas of our coast. Are they Noah’s Ark shells or mussels? Debates on the subject have often been held and you will have an opportunity to talk about it with connoisseurs from Istrida who are going to prepare them before you every evening.

This year we will again host the Motovun restaurant Mondo, which is going to offer us truffles from the famous Motovun forest. As you must know already, summer or black as well as the delicious white Istrian truffles are considered to be the kings of gastronomy. Real gourmets claim they taste best if they are the stars of a plate rather than the ingredients adding flavour to other dishes. This is why you should try this aphrodisiac, combined with the Istrian pasta fuži or polenta, prepared in the kitchen of the cooks from Motovun whose culinary masterpieces have even been praised by a journalist from the New York Times.
